WHAT IS SHARJAH SUSTAINABLE CITY?

Sharjah Sustainable City is the first fully integrated, net zero energy residential community in the emirate of Sharjah.

The momentous mixed-used project pursues the goal of creating another world-class, sustainable and happy community in the Middle East and North Africa.

WHAT WILL THE COMMUNITY COMPRISE OF?

Sharjah Sustainable City is the first sustainable residential community in Sharjah. Developed in partnership with Shurooq and Diamond Developers, the 7.2 million square feet of land in Al Rahmaniya comprises of 1120 three-, four- and five-bedroom villas, a community mall, a utility park and a school.

Services include shops, restaurants and cafes, a nursery, clinics, an autism centre and other facilities such as separate gyms for ladies and men. The utility park will serve as an educational destination including a visitors’ centre and an energy park.

The residents of Sharjah Sustainable City will enjoy healthy and environmentally responsible living. Villas are powered by solar energy and there is 100% recycling of water and waste.

Mobility around the city is with electric vehicles and an autonomous shuttle bus. Leafy green vegetables and herbs are produced in bio-domes and with vertical farming and there is an emphasis on wellbeing with shared sporting facilities and open areas.

This project represents a fundamental change in the concept of future cities and urban planning.
